Jim Drain for Opening Ceremony

SWOON!!! I'm absolutely in love with the new limited release for Opening Ceremony from fellow RISD grad Jim Drain ('98 SC). Absolutely brilliant designs and looks. Such a RISD aesthetic too! I could totally see kids hanging out in Olneyville in sweaters like these... well, if they didn't cost $400 to $700 bucks, oof! Read his interview here. Great stuff!

Sun Tea

Last weeks 30 Rock featured a hilarious subplot with Tracy Morgan's character exclaiming The Cosby Show had lied to him, and that fatherhood was not all it was cracked up to be. This included a hallucination of Tracy as Bill Cosby, and of course an awesome sweater was involved. Watch the full episode here!

Killing it.

The ladies aren't the only ones enjoying some Sweater Posse gems, Thanks to designer Angela Missoni the boys are also included in some spectacular threads this fall. Here's what GQ had to say about Missoni's love for all things Sweater Posse:
"The Missoni juggernaut has produced everything from women's clothes to fragrances, home furnishings, and a budding boutique-hotel empire, but the brand is rightfully famous for its colorful, instantly identifiable patterns—and the expertly crafted sweaters on which you see them. The company launched a small men's line in 2001 and has since expanded into denim and relaxed-fit suits."
Above is a highlight of the most outrages trends coming out of Milan. This ish has gone global! Images courtesy of GQ.

Straight from the Source.

Koos Van Den Akker and Bill Cosby

Koos was responsible for kick- starting the Cosby sweater trend of the 1980's. He was asked by a close mutual friend of Cosby's to design a sweater for him, according to his site, the rest is history.
"[Josephine Premice] took it to the set of the Cosby Show where Bill immediately put it on and wore it for the taping. It was an instantaneous hit. Cosby, in his incredibly generous way began giving his friends presents made by Koos left right and center and the Koos designs became a sensation".
Along with other notable companies such as the wild Australian brand Coogi, the trend rode out the rest of the 80's and early 90's and is currently experiencing a resurgence among the hipper more ironic kids out there. America being the land of kitsch, it's not surprising to see younger generations embracing their poly-blend nits with gusto these days!

"Iron Mask Or The Cosby Sweater"

This amazing print brings together two of my favorite things in life; silkscreened art and Cosby sweaters. Felix Jackson is a southern artist with quite an eye. Taking an obscure MF Doom rap lyric and putting it to good use. Lovin this print!

This sweater speaks, (loudly) for itself. Me wants it.
